Academic support through bursaries for educational enrichment

The Thermo Fisher Scientific Phambili Trust Bursary is designed to provide financial assistance to eligible candidates pursuing tertiary education. The bursary covers tuition and living expenses, and additional expenses incurred during the applicant's studies.

The bursary will enable deserving candidates to pursue their academic goals without financial constraints, allowing them to reach their full potential.


The Trust offers the bursary for one (1) academic year


The Bursary will primarily cover tuition fees and living costs

Eligibility and selection criteria

To be eligible for the bursary, applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • They must be black, as defined in the B-BBEE codes of good practice.
  • They must come from an economically disadvantaged background and demonstrate financial need.
  • They must be pursuing further education or acquiring skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) at a South African tertiary institution.
  • They should be under the age of 35.
